WW Recap: August 31

I’m honored and ecstatic to meet and work with all of you this year! Whether we’re welcoming you back or meeting you for the first time, myself and the WW committee are over the moon about working with you! You are what makes the SFC such a magical organization.

Champions, your pitches were all fantastic! Thank you so much for being brave, bold Khals/Khaleesis and sharing your stories with us! We’re so excited to see you pitch on Tuesday and watch you achieve your dreams this year!

Last night, we went over pitching in preparation for Pitch Day next Tuesday. If you’re pitching Tuesday and missed last night’s meeting, worry not! You’ll find the videos/sample pitches we went over last night in this post as well as the greatest PowerPoint you’ve ever seen (can you guess who wrote it?).

Some points to keep in mind as you practice your pitch over the long weekend:

  • Be mindful of the time limit (1 min pitch/2 mins for questions).
  • Communicate your story concisely
  • Most importantly, be passionate!

One more thing, we’re always accepting scripts! We can’t wait to read what you’ve got so send those scripts in (sfcwritersworkshop@gmail.com)!

Have a fun and safe Labor Day Weekend! And, once again, thank you for joining us this year!
